Back To School Necessities

Summer sure does seem to race by, doesn’t it? It seems like just yesterday that we were celebrating the end of the school year. Now, it’s almost time to start another one.

And you know what that means. It’s almost time to buy school supplies. Instead of waiting until the last minute as everyone else does, why not get a head start and begin looking now for the things that you’ll need. It would be much easier than a last-minute, mad dash right before school starts.

Even if you don’t have the full supply list from school yet, here are a few things that you know you’ll need.

Laptop

It may or may not be on your list of necessities. But, if it is, starting a search early for a new laptop could result in you finding a great sale and saving some money.

Pens, Pencils, and Highlighters

You’ll find your favorites if you start looking early. Even online resources will run low on certain items the closer it gets to the first day of school. And, when you find the ones that you want; buy enough for the entire year.

Planner, Notebooks, and Binders

Even though more and more of your education is happening on computers, laptops, and tablets, school’s haven’t gone paperless quite yet. It’s always a good idea to stock up on planners, notebooks, binders, and other organizers.

Post-Its

These ingenious little sticky notes can be used for all sorts of things ranging from reminder notes to marking pages in a book. You can even use different colors to help keep things even better organized.

New Cleaning Supplies

Regardless of whether you are buying necessities for grade school or graduate school, cleaning supplies should definitely be on the list. You can’t be too safe in today’s world.
• Sanitizing wipes are great to have on hand for a quick wipe. You never know when a desk, chair or other commonly used items at school could use a quick cleaning.
• If you are moving into a dorm, it’s a really good idea to scrub it from top to bottom before you move in. Who knows what’s been going on in there?
• It’ll be very helpful to have some cleaning supplies for your car if you are driving to and from campus, especially if you are giving your friends a ride. You know how messy they can be sometimes.

Backpack

It’s actually a must. There’s really no better way to safely transport all of the things that you need to carry.

Lunchbox

There’s just something nice about beginning a new school year with a new lunch box. And, don’t you always seem to find some creative ways to use the old ones that you have collected over the years?

Snacks

Speaking of food, keeping snacks in your backpack can really make a difference in your day, especially if you don’t have time to stop for lunch.

Umbrella

Buy it early unless you want to get stuck with a goofy one. Or, buy a goofy one and have fun with it.

Clothes

Back-to-school clothes shopping is a time-honored tradition. Enjoy the experience, stock up on your favorite clothing, and keep the tradition going.

It can really be quite an extensive list of all of the things that you’ll need for school this year. These are just a few ideas to get you started. Just don’t wait too late to find what you’re looking for. The early bird gets the worm, right?
